Bellacana Vineyards is more than a winery—it is a symbol of resilience, cultural pride, and the enduring connection between native peoples and the land. Owned by California's Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians, Bellacana Vineyards stands as the first wholly tribal owned winery in the United States. They honor the traditions of their ancestors who have cared for this land for generations.
Their story is rooted in Sonoma County, where the Pomo people have long understood the delicate balance of nature. Long before sustainability became a movement, their ancestors practiced it as a way of life—respecting the land, protecting its resources, and ensuring its vitality for those who would come after. They continue this legacy today, farming their138-acre estate with organic and sustainable practices, cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay along the Russian River, where the cooling fog of the Pacific Ocean shapes the vines.
Every bottle crafted carries the spirit of Pomo heritage. It is a bridge between past and future, where Indigenous wisdom meets modern winemaking to create wines of distinction. Each sip is an invitation to experience their culture, the commitment to excellence, and the Pomo's deep-rooted connection to this land.
Historic Fall Creek, Pendleton Settlement honors the historic character and associations of our area. The settlement era began with the Treaty of St. Mary's (1818) between the US Government and the Miami Indians. Our area has no indigenous structures to preserve but does have settlement era stories to capture and natural resources to protect. Learn more by researching the links below.
